  • The structure of Wisconsin’s county offices (Clerk of Court, Sheriff, Treasurer, Register of Deeds, County Clerk) was established in the Wisconsin Constitution in 1848. Historically, these "row offices" were viewed as executive/administrative roles tied to the political parties of the time. While judicial roles eventually shifted to non-partisan ballots to protect the impartiality of the bench, the administrative roles supporting them remained in the partisan category.

While this office appears on a partisan ballot, the work of the Clerk of Circuit Court must be strictly impartial. I am committed to serving every Rock County resident with fairness and integrity, regardless of political affiliation.

  • I bring a unique combination of judicial trust and administrative expertise. Having already been entrusted by our local judges to maintain the integrity of this office, I have proven I can handle the pressure and technical demands of the role. I’ve dedicated my education and my career to this specific work. I’m running to ensure Rock County continues to benefit from an office that is run with passion, transparency, and a commitment to innovation and accessibility.

  • Most residents interact with the Clerk’s office during some of the most significant moments of their lives, whether it's navigating a divorce, seeking a restraining order, paying a ticket, navigating a criminal charge and/or conviction, or serving on a jury. My office ensures that the records of these events are managed with total accuracy and that every person who walks through our doors is met with a 'How can I help?' attitude. We are the bridge between the public and the justice system, ensuring that the process runs smoothly for everyone in Rock County.

  • My leadership style is collaborative and accountability driven. I believe people perform best when expectations are clear, communication is open and leadership is steady.

I believe it is important to provide staff with the tools they need to be successful. Those tools range from having established policies and procedures, to setting specific deadlines to tasks when needed, to receiving open and consistent communication from leadership.

I believe effective leadership requires being fair and empathetic while earning trust through transparency. By prioritizing a people-first culture, I ensure our staff is supported so they can best serve our community.

  • Financial accountability is a key part of the justice system. Typically, payments for restitution, fines, and court costs are due within 60 days of sentencing. To ensure these obligations are met, any balances remaining after the initial due date are submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue’s Tax Intercept Program. However, we understand that every situation is different; anyone facing payment difficulties is encouraged to apply for a deferred payment agreement to avoid additional statutory failure-to-pay actions.

  • Modernization is about more than just new computers; it’s about increasing accessibility and efficiency. To improve efficiency, I am leading an effort to digitize all court records from 1985 to the present. This back-scanning project allows residents to opt-in to the eFiling system to view their documents instantly online. By moving away from slow, paper-based processes, we are ensuring faster turnaround times for all records requests and bringing Rock County’s records management into the 21st century.

Expanding digital access is just the first step in a broader effort to integrate innovation into our daily operations. Through my work on the CCAP AI Committee, I am actively preparing our legal system for the future. I am committed to leveraging emerging technologies to improve court operations while ensuring that Wisconsin’s AI policies remain grounded in transparency and accountability.

Whether we are implementing new technology or refining existing protocols, the ultimate goal is a culture of constant progress. I am dedicated to a court system that evolves with the times. We must always be willing to ask 'why' we do what we do. By identifying room for growth in even our most established routines, I ensure that our office remains agile, cost-effective, and focused on delivering the best possible service.

  • Jury duty is a vital civic contribution, and I believe the Clerk’s office must respect the time and effort our jurors provide. I have prioritized streamlining the orientation process to ensure jurors spend less time waiting and more time being effectively informed. To ensure we are constantly improving, I have also implemented voluntary jury service exit questionnaires. This direct feedback allows us to listen to our jurors' experiences and refine our processes to make jury service as rewarding and efficient as possible.

  • The Clerk’s office handles millions of dollars in public funds, and I take that responsibility seriously. I manage these resources using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and specialized financial software designed for the court system. By implementing strict internal controls and conducting regular audits, I ensure that every fee, fine, and forfeiture is accounted for and distributed correctly.
